What’s New in Praepara Health Suite for Windows
Every update, improvement, and fix to the Windows edition — documented here so you always know what changed and why.

New
- Claim Workstation — A single place to track money you paid out of pocket and are owed back. Record what the money was spent on in your own words, what you are still waiting on, and the filing deadline you read off your own plan documents. The app never estimates a deadline or a reimbursement amount for you — if you have not entered one, none is shown.
- Document Vault — An encrypted store for the paperwork a claim actually needs: bills, Explanation of Benefits statements, denial letters, and plan documents, kept alongside the claim they belong to.
- Real prescription pricing — Drug price lookups now use NADAC, the federal dataset of what pharmacies actually pay wholesalers per unit, published by CMS and refreshed weekly. It is a benchmark for what a medication costs before markup, not a quote for your price at the counter.
Improved
- Far more of your data comes out in a report — Condition check-ins, cognitive check-ins, the fall log, cancer and radiation check-ins, infusion sessions, and the full set of chronic-illness trackers now appear in the health report and CSV export alongside your vitals and medications — 29 kinds of record in total.
- A more consistent interface — Page headers, breadcrumbs, section headings, empty states, and form fields were rebuilt as shared components, so screens behave the same way throughout the app instead of each one doing it slightly differently.
- Better keyboard navigation — More of the app can be reached and operated without a mouse.
Fixed
- Medical imaging encryption — a data-loss fix — If the imaging encryption key went missing, the app would quietly create a new one, which permanently locked you out of every image you had already imported. It now refuses to create a replacement key while imaging records still exist, and reports the real problem instead of a misleading decryption error.
Privacy & Terms
- Full legal documents now published online — The Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice, and open-source licenses on this website now match the copy inside the app word for word, including the California, Washington, and EEA/UK disclosures.
- Your records are preserved — Nothing you have logged is removed or changed by this update.
Version 1.0.4
Update
September 2026
New
- Set your own ranges — You can now enter your own target range for blood pressure, blood glucose, blood oxygen, heart rate, temperature, weight, and daily fluid intake. Enter the range your care team gave you and the app will show whether a reading falls inside or outside it. Leave it blank and your reading is simply recorded, with no status attached.
- Note who set each range — Each range has an optional field for where it came from, so months later you can still see that a target was set by a particular clinic or clinician.
Improved
- Praepara no longer interprets your readings — The app previously compared what you logged against built-in reference ranges and labeled it accordingly. Those built-in ranges are gone. A healthy range genuinely differs from person to person, so the only comparison the app now makes is against a range you supplied yourself.
- Clearer notices throughout — Every screen that records health information now explains, in plain language and without scrolling, what Praepara does and does not do with it.
- Any real reading can be recorded — Unusual values are no longer rejected. A reading that looks alarming is exactly the one worth having in your log to show a clinician.
- Exports carry their own context — Reports and CSV files now identify the app, its version, the date they were produced, and the fact that the data in them was self-reported, so anyone reading one knows what they are looking at.
- Emergency Medical ID shows its age — The card now displays when you last updated it, so a caregiver or first responder can tell at a glance whether it is current.
- Refreshed external resources — Several linked organizations had moved, merged, renamed, or lapsed since launch. Dead and redirected links were replaced, and the Advocacy and billing guidance was reworded to point you to your own policy documents rather than quoting figures that vary by plan.
- Accessibility — Better screen-reader labeling, and no screen now relies on color alone to convey information.
Privacy & Terms
- Updated Privacy Policy and Terms — You will be asked to review and accept them once when you first open this version. Two disclosures were made more precise: how the optional handoff of imaging to MicroDicom cleans up after itself, and exactly what reaches a third party when you use one of the app’s optional lookups.
- Your records are preserved — Nothing you have logged is removed or changed by this update.
Version 1.0.3
Update
September 2026
Improved
- Privacy Policy & Terms — Rewritten to fully and accurately describe the Windows edition’s local-encryption and backup architecture (SQLCipher database encryption plus Windows DPAPI key protection, a backup folder and passphrase entirely under your control), replacing earlier placeholder content that didn’t match this edition.
- Clearer third-party disclosures — The Privacy Policy and Terms now spell out every outside service the app can reach and exactly what leaves your device, including the optional handoff of imaging studies to MicroDicom on your own PC, and the reference sites the app can open in your browser.
New
- Open Source Licenses — Added a dedicated page in the app listing the open-source components used for local encryption and medical imaging, and the license each is used under.
