Our core principle is simple: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and wherever technically feasible, your data stays on your device.

Modus Creatio L.L.C. is an independent app studio based in the United States. We develop mobile applications for Android distributed through the Google Play Store. Our current app is Praepara — a home insurance and emergency preparedness tool.

Our website does not use tracking cookies, analytics platforms, or advertising pixels. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal information from visitors unless you contact us directly via email.

Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained by our hosting provider (WordPress.com) subject to their own privacy policy.

Mobile Applications

Our apps are designed with a privacy-first architecture. Data created within our apps (inventory items, documents, photos, claim records) is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to Modus Creatio servers — because we don’t have any. 3. How We Use Information

If you contact us by email, we use your email address solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to mailing lists, share your contact information with third parties, or use it for marketing.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties except as required by law.

5. Third-Party Services

Our website is hosted on WordPress.com, which may collect standard server logs. Our apps use public third-party APIs (National Weather Service, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, OpenStreetMap) to deliver features. These services operate under their own privacy policies and receive only the minimum data required for their function.

Cloud backup features in our apps use your personal Google Drive account via the drive.appdata scope — data goes to your account, not ours.

PDF generation in our apps is powered by PDFBox Android, an open-source library licensed under the Apache License 2.0. All PDF documents are generated entirely on your device. No data is transmitted to any external server during this process.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our website and applications are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect any information we handle. Our mobile applications use AES-256 encryption for all locally stored data. We do not store your personal data on external servers.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Since we collect almost no personal data, in most cases this amounts to any emails you have sent us. Contact us at the address below to make a request.
